Wherever you are in Bournemouth, Christchurch & Poole this week there is something to entertain the whole family at Festival Coast Live! Whether you are looking for live music or activities to keep the children entertained, Festival Coast Live! has it all!
At the Quomps in Christchurch on Friday, the Coda Ukulele Band will be playing a rock and pop set to finish off their summer series of Summer Sounds from Coda. And on Saturday at Saxon Square, you are encouraged to grab a deckchair and enjoy seven hours of live outdoor music for free! Smooth Summer Vibes features an impressive lineup including the ever-popular Susie Kimber, The Secret Spot Surf Band and Ben Poczapsky.

Throughout the week in the Star Tent in Bournemouth, there is lots for young children and families to enjoy, starting with ‘Under the Sea’ themed art workshops organised by Arts2Educate, a partner of Soundstorm Music Education Agency. On Thursday there is a chance to join samba workshops and become part of a samba troupe and on Friday, finish the week with a bang and enjoy West African drumming and dance workshops.

So far, we’ve made 400 ukuleles, helped children make various art exhibits plus have seen numerous impromptu concerts. The feedback from participants has been fantastic!”
If dancing is your thing, Dancing Terraces returns in the Lower Gardens offering an opportunity for all the family to dance Funk and Soul on Friday and then Bollywood on Saturday.
The Big Screen is on the move again this week, offering you a chance to don those pink jackets, grease up those quiffs for an evening where GREASE is truly the word! Bring a blanket and a picnic and enjoy Singalong Grease in Poole Park on Thursday at 7pm. If classical is more your style, then enjoy Saturday evening in the company of the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and watch a selection of the greatest classical music in the world on the Big Screen. The BSO Classical Extravaganza has something for everyone to enjoy and concludes with the symphonic explosion that is Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture.
Over in Ashley Cross on Saturday, Snazzback part of the latest wave in new music to emerge from Bristol’s thriving music scene performs on the Festival Coast Live! stage. This Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club sell out band sits across jazz, beats, electronica, Afro-Latin and hypnotic rock.
Steamship Circus will be continuing its summer programme with performances this weekend on Poole Quay and Bournemouth Lower Gardens. A contemporary circus and performance group they have been thrilling audiences throughout the summer with their walkabout shows and street entertainment with everything from giant butterflies and peacocks to showgirl stilt walkers, aerial acts, workshops, and fire & light shows.
